“At the core of the series is Perry’s use of cloth forms – abstracted, fabric-like bodies that represent, in their constellations, past and present familial relationships. The forms act as surrogates, embodying the absence of those who are not, or are no longer, there. By interacting with them in a controlled studio setting, Perry stages moments that exist between remembering and letting go. Each motif is linked to a particular situation or state in this process of grief. His work underscores the significance of healing rituals performed by the living as they navigate the emotional terrain of loss. Through these interactions, family roles and obligations are redefined, and relationships among the living continue to evolve. The original fabric forms are displayed close to the windows at the entry. Their ghostlike presence casts shadows through the glass — a quiet trace of those presently absent.” — J.Denzler
